Air Plants Ideas

Air plants (Tillandsia) can make a perfect gift for anyone you can think off! Whether you are an enthusiastic gardener impatiently waiting for the spring or an office worm who just wants to add a green touch to their cubicle, you can find the plant (or many) you will fall in love πŸ™‚

You can find them in a garden centre close to you or online. We got ours at Minter Gardens and I literally had to control myself so I don’t get all of them πŸ™‚

The plants don’t require soil but you can arrange them in a glass container with either sand or decorative rocks.

As I have mentioned, they are very easy to care for.

You just find the right spot for them. They don’t need a sunny window but a light location will help. We keep ours on the fireplace mantle for now but are planning to move them to another room. And that is going to be an exciting project to share with you, so stay tuned πŸ˜‰

They only need to get watered once a week. You simply place them into a small vase or container and completely cover them with water. We use rainwater for this purpose but tap water will work fine too.

They seem to absorb water through their leaves, therefore, it is very important to soak them in it. Half an hour is more than enough πŸ™‚

It is recommended to useΒ a good fertilizer to feed your plant once a month or two. Just follow the instructions on the package πŸ˜‰
