I am so excited and nervous at the same time! And there is a big reason to it.
I am a guest participant
in the One Room Challenge!
One Room Challenge event founded by Linda of Calling It Home happens twice a year, in April and in October, and I have been a huge fan of it for a couple of years already. I have been dreaming about one day taking part in it. And when I say dreaming, I really mean it!
If you told me just a few months ago that I would have a blog, I would have thought you were ummm… crazy… If you told me last week that I would challenge myself to the One Room Challenge, I would have been really worried about you 🙂 And here I am. Crazy? Ambitious? A bit of both? Adventurous for sure!
Anyway, here it is!
As you probably know, we have purchased our house 16 months ago, and we have been slowly (veeerryyy slowly) doing a few things here and there trying to make it our Home. We have painted the walls (most of them) and replaced the floors on the main floor. We haven’t done anything in the basement besides removing the old carpets and replacing the washer/dryer in the laundry room. However, I have been wanting to beautify our sad master bedroom so bad!
And this is what we have decided to go for with this Challenge!
As you can see our bedroom is very small. It looks like it is all-about-doors. We have two small His and Her closets, and the storage is a big issue for us.
Inspiration
Both my husband and I are huge fans of modern, almost minimalist design. Although, I do like to add some glamour touch to it 🙂 As for some ideas of what we would like to see, here are some inspirational photos.
I Love the brick wall in this bedroom! I love how simple the bed is and the touches of gold, and the colours! Love It! Definitely something to get inspired by!
Here is another example:
Here is what I mean Modern with glamour touch 🙂 Love the bed, the wallpaper, lighting fixtures beside the bed, colours, well, everything 🙂
Our wish list
I am planning on having a feature wall with wallpaper. I wish we could a dark, like really dark grey one, but I am afraid it will make the room to feel even smaller. We will be keeping the bed and the side tables, as they are very good for solving our limited storage issue. I am also thinking to add a smaller dresser on the other side of the room (again, more storage :)).
The lighting in the room also needs a good “facelift”. I was thinking about adding a chandelier over the bed (something simple and chic at the same time), and additional lights by the sides of the bed.
It would be good to have the old window replaced as well, but it will depend on the product and labour availability. If not, we will live with what we have until the “good times”.
Ah, I can’t wait to start working on it all!
Thank you again, Linda, for such an exciting opportunity for all bloggers (both professional and designers-by-heart :))! Looking forward to checking on other One Room Challenge projects as well!
Please follow us in our One Room Challenge Master Bedroom adventure and hope to see you next week!
Hugs,
Nat

I love your inspiration imag. A dark, moody bedroom gets me every time. Good luck!
Thank you Joan! I agree! The dark moody bedroom, if done right, looks so dramatic! Hope you come back to see the results! 🙂
Sounds like fun!
Thank you Brittany! I am so excited! 🙂
